A. Philip Randolph was honored Monday, October 8, 2007, with a new portrait that tells of his lifelong struggle against injustice. The unveiling took place in the West Pullman Library on 119th Street, Chicago, Illinois. The portrait was done by Chicago artist Steve Musgrave.

I think that its great what your organization is doing. I live in North Carolina and as you know, UNIONS are public enemy #1 for all the businesses here. As you also know, we do have a rich history in progressive movements (sit-in @ A&T university, Morningside Riots of 1979?, having an all black fireman team, etc. As a young educated ethnic-wearing, I have run into sooo much structural discrimination/institutionalized racism in the 5 years I've been in North Carolina and I HAVE NEVER met sooo many PASSIVE COMPLACENT RICH AFRICAN AMERICANS that are NOT involved in the betterment of the race as a whole. How can I get the issues that need to be addressed on a platform that ALL PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE CHALLENGES that systemically oppress? Thanks for your attention to this matter.
