We are pleased to announce this year’s National Education Conference will convene on
USING OUR STRENGTH & POWER THRU ACTION...
APRI’s founder A. Philip Randolph, a pivotal figure in both the labor and civil rights movements, played a crucial and powerful role in
Chicago's history, particularly through his leadership of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (BSCP), the first all-Black labor union.
Randolph’s work in Chicago and beyond had a lasting impact on the labor movement and the civil rights struggle, and as we know, he
became a prominent figure in the fight for equality and justice for African Americans.
In a time where unions and the right to organize is under fire, we are reminded of the words of our Co-founder, Bayard Rustin, “The proof that one truly believes is in action.”
This year we are celebrating our organizational milestones through ACTION that clearly shows that we will not back down and that we will continue to FIGHT! Therefore, our theme for this Conference is; “USING OUR STRENGTH & POWER THRU ACTION…WE WERE BUILT FOR THIS!”
We encourage you to come prepared to engage in a serious way for the work ahead. WE WILL START FROM THE BASICS.
It is important to continue organizing and mobilizing our communities for the action needed to combat the ongoing social inequalities such as racial injustice, sexism, and denial of LGBTQIA rights.
