• History of A.P. R. I -

Learn the history of our organization and its founders A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin, as well as the mission and purpose of the senior constituency group of the AFL-CIO.


• Local Power/Local Politics -

Gain a better understanding of the importance of engaging in your local government and how local elections can have a greater impact than state or federal elections


• Breaking the Glass Ceiling -

This workshop will teach women techniques that will empower them to advance in leadership roles in their local, state, and federal governments, as well as their local union organization.


• Bridging the Generational Gap -

Learn skills needed to understand and mend the miscommunication between our youth and "seasoned" voters in order to build solid community coalitions.


• Get Out the Vote (GOTV): Diversity 101-

This workshop will teach techniques to engage the unique and varied members of diverse communities, acknowledging and stressing the importance of their participation in the electoral process.


• Reality Check Academy -

Learn to spot and navigate the false advertising, lies, and propaganda you might encounter on social media; Facebook, TikTok, text messages, or videos. Explore methods to find accurate information needed to become a well-informed voter.


• Get Lit on Politics -

This workshop will teach our youth from ages 12-17 years old, teaching the fundamentals of politics and how to recognize and use their power in the political process.


• Civic Literacy Lab: Decoding Democracy -

How can we encourage our community to participate in the electoral process if they are not educated about our government or the elected offices we vote on? This workshop will teach the mechanics and importance of knowing about civics and our elections.
